Valeria Solomonoff grew up in Argentina, where she studied tango, modern dance, ballet and choreography and received twice First Prize for her solos at Argentine Dance Festivals. Once in US she became the cofounder and artistic director of TangoMujer, the first all woman tango ensemble. The group received two touring NEFA grants and has since been performing regularly in US and Europe. Valeria has partnered stars of Tango Argentino, Tango Pasion and Forever Tango and appeared on television, in film and television commercials. She has performed at New York CityÕs Lincoln Center, Metropolitan Opera House, Jacobs Pillow, the Herbst Theater of San Francisco and the Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin, for the President of Argentina and the U.S. State Department. Ms. Solomonoff has choreographed "LetÕs Speak Tango", an Off Broadway play during its April 2007 run in New York City. She also was the choreographer and a dancer in the upcoming film "On the Hook," starring Tony Award winning actor Frank Langella and Academy Award nominated actor Elliott Gould. The film, directed by Richard Ledes, is to be released in 2008. Other choreographic credits include Valetango Dance Company debut at Town Hall, Cristiana PegoraroÕs concert at Alice Tully Hall and "Locos de Contento" at Repertorio Espanol. Besides teaching at Tango Festivals, Valeria has taught at New York University, Hunter College, Smith College, Mount Holyoke College, and at Mark Morris Dance Center in New York. Valeria teaches at Dance Manhattan.
